Many would argue that one of the most challenging tasks of organising their big day is selecting the perfect outfit. For the bride, choosing an outfit is not as easy as finding a pretty dress and purchasing it, there are many factors that have to be taken into consideration, such as budget, season, and style.
If the bride is relatively tall, and the groom isn't, the bride may wish to select an outfit that does not emphasise her height too much, but rather balances it with that of the groom's. Vertical lines and pencil dresses will draw more attention to the height of the bride, where as layered skirts and horizontal detailing such as sleeves, and bodices that extend the shoulder line, are options you may wiah to consider. Good bridal stores and wedding books can offer you sound advice on selecting an outfit that will compliment both the bride and the groom on their big day.
Another issue that often arises when it's time for a bride to choose her wedding outfit, is that she wants to look spectacular on her wedding day, but does not want to spend an outrageous amount of money on an outfit that she is only going to wear once. If this is the case with you, there are a number of different alternatives for you to consider.

The Traditional Bridal outfit
The wearing of a white bridal outfit is a long lived Victorian tradition. Because delicate white garments were practically impossible to keep clean, a wedding dress could only be worn once, and therefore was seen as a symbol of status, and not an indictor of a woman's virtue, as only the wealthy could afford them. It was only after World War II that the white wedding dress was seen as an indication of a woman's virtue.
Although the Victorian tradition still lives on, many brides now opt to marry in ivory, as opposed to white.
The Asian Bridal outfit
The traditional colour of the Asian Bridal Lengha is normally red. The Lengha is heavily decorated with gold or silver Dhaka-work, a form of embroidery, and Swarovski crystals or diamantes are sometimes added to the Dhaka-work to enhance the design.
The Asian Bridal Sari is normally red and white with gold embroidery. Red signifies abundance and fertility, and the white is for purity.
Although red bridal attire has been a long lived tradition in Asian culture, some brides do opt out of the tradition and go for a modern alternative.
