Flowers: Catkin Flowers - more info

Like everything else the flower arrangements should tie together and reflect the style of your wedding. The flowers at the reception should tie in with those at the ceremony, as well as what the bride is wearing. It is also said that the groom's buttonhole should look as though it has been plucked straight from the bride's bouquet.

Once you have selected your flower arrangements, it is a good idea to ask your florist to give you a list of the flowers that will be used in the bridal bouquet. Your cake decorator can then use the range of flowers on the list to make sugared flowers for your cake that compliment the bridal bouquet.

When selecting your flower arrangements, blooms that will be in season at the time of your wedding will be readily available and in turn work out to be less expensive than exotic flowers that need to be imported out of season. Tulips and daffodils are a good choice for spring weddings, where as roses, gladioli's, and cornflowers are perfect for summer weddings.

You don't need to go OTT with your theme, but continuity will most definitely add a touch of class to your big day.

We've selected a few books to make choosing your bridal bouquet a little easier. Please click on the images for more information.
